We were acquainted; I lost touch with him right after Jest came out.

I just wrote a long post thanking him and blaming him.

It said some things that made us both look awful.

That one got g-locked.

Instead, I'm saying little and remembering who he was in 1992-93, back when I would pass out on his couch and he'd stay up all night, writing his ass off.

I didn't know him well, we hung out a few dozen times. My bet is that he would've remembered me reasonably well, but as a random dude from a hazy past. I bet their are a few mutual friends left and I can think of one or two who are probably wrecked by this.

May he RIP; my condolences to you. It's hard to lose someone you have unfinished 'business.'

I find it interesting that he was not teaching right now. For many a writer, it is work and sharing the passion that keeps us stable.
