"When I played in bands, it was understood that the guys who took jobs in wedding bands to pay the bills were on the way out, no matter how good they were or what their intentions. You've got to stay focused."
(quote from a friend)

Part of me is certain this is true and part of me is certain that it isn't. (If I remember right, the context was novelizations or ghostwriting, something I'm probably willing to do.)

And, hey, Rabid Transit continues to move people from place to place in hydrophobic fashion:

(I love that both reviews have mentioned that my "Release the Bats" (Baby is a cool machine!) is a traditional plot but told in such a strange way that it works or is okay. This beats the other way of coming at it, perhaps by saying that it's written like a frantic smokescreen desperately trying to hide the fact that any story conceived while listening to early Nick Cave and considering the ethical ramifications of adoring Uma in Kill Bill is a very, very bad place to start one's plotting...)

Don't tell me that it doesn't hurt, when she says, "Horror vampire bat bite!"
