Regardless of the fact that I won't be able to afford them, is it morally wrong if I buy every copy of the book so that I'm the only one privy to its dark and shatteringly resplendent secrets?

<<Thomas Ligotti: 'The Conspiracy Against the Human Race'

A preeminent name in the genre of supernatural horror fiction, Thomas Ligotti is known as the creator of superbly imagined and superlatively written works that convey a monolithically nightmarish vision of human existence. His latest work, THE CONSPIRACY AGAINST THE HUMAN RACE, illuminates the personal credo underlying that vision. Subtitled "The Horror of Life and the Art of Horror," this book comprises an excursion through the darker byways of literature, philosophy, psychology, and other disciplines commonly advanced as the pride and joy of human endeavor, approaching its themes in the uncompromisingly bleak and often blackly humorous manner familiar to readers of Ligotti's tales. A work of nonfiction, THE CONSPIRACY AGAINST THE HUMAN RACE is also the author's ultimate horror story, a grotesque and uncanny narrative whose subject is that of life itself. Approximately 225pp. Format, cost, and other details to be announced.>>

Given that at some time soon after you'd come to our place for a party bearing a copy, saying that your house was overloaded with books and it was just taking up space, no, I'd say that wouldn't be morally wrong. You'd just be a dark and resplendent secret spreader, which, by the way, would be the coolest home gardening tool ever. :)

Rough math says that they'll print 1,500 and it'll be approx. a hundred a pop (in pounds translated.) I assure everyone that I don't have the cash to hoard the book!

But, oh, I have the desire.

Only if you don't share the wealth.

Thomas Ligotti has allowed THOMAS LIGOTTI ONLINE to publish THE CONSPIRACY AGAINST THE HUMAN RACE: A SHORT LIFE OF HORROR online prior to going to print in book format. This work is for "those for whom philosophical and literary works of pessimism, nihilism, and defeatism are essential to their being."
