In a song called "Fer Sure," the band The Medic Droid talks about doing drugs on the dashboard, followed by stilleto heels coming off.
Then there's a bizarre spoken word bit where the lead singer says "No JK JK JK," spelling each letter. Then "LOL," also spelled, over and over, and then we get:
"We're not falling in love
We're just falling apart
[so girl let's dance the night away]
This is how the beat goes 2X
[Just let your body go]
This is how the beat drops 2X
[I wanna see your panties drop girl now]
All this time is wasted pretending we're in love
But that's alright cause you know
I love being with you and seeing you cry."
I feel for him.
He doesn't just want to see her
(his? -- girl is one of those words used in synthpop songs in such a way that it doesn't always have to be about girls)
panties drop. He wants to see them drop "now."
And tears are such a healthy addition to any form of lovemaking that occurs in a car...
Yet, despite my confusion, I want music like this to play everywhere. It'd be so much better than what I seem to be able to find on the radio.
PS -- The news that The Faint are doing a remix for NIN makes me feel a rare and shimmering joy. If only they did an album together.
