Voices from Beyond?

When I get email from someone I've known for decades but barely keep in touch with, I presume someone we both knew, obscurely, died.

Sometimes it's babies or weddings,

I know they'd call if someone major died. (Unless they died, then I hope they'll visit in dreams but I don't expect them to call...)

But there are old school people and old work people who aren't worth the phone call from the other old school or work person, I guess.
